Here's CNN on October Surprises. I disagree with the use of "far-fetched," but I've been flogging that particular horse for so long that I probably lack perspective.

Unfortunately, if this happens, even if it's staged (in other words, they've known where Osama has been for minths), average Mr. & Mrs. America will be duped, and Dubya gets re-elected. And if the truth comes out next year, well, it's too late, because then it's four more years of Dubya and his cronies getting rich(er).
